Argentinas Central Bank To Issue New 10000 Peso Note

Argentina's Central Bank to Issue New 10,000-Peso Note

Five Steps to Identify the New Bill

The Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) will be releasing a new 10,000-peso note, which will circulate alongside the current version. To help the public distinguish between the two notes, the BCRA has provided five simple steps:

Look

The new note is a different color than the current one. The old note is blue and green, while the new note is pink and blue.

Touch

The new note has a raised texture that can be felt by running your fingers over it. The raised texture is located on the portraits of Martín Miguel de Güemes and Facundo Quiroga.

Raise

When you hold the new note up to the light, you will see a security thread running through the center of the note. The security thread is silver and has the words "Banco Central de la República Argentina" printed on it.

Tilt

When you tilt the new note back and forth, you will see a color-shifting ink patch. The color-shifting ink patch is located on the lower left-hand corner of the note. The patch will change color from gold to green depending on the viewing angle.

Check

The new note has a watermark of General Manuel Belgrano. The watermark is located on the right-hand side of the note and can be seen when you hold the note up to the light.
