Chelsea Boss Mauricio Pochettino Praises Team's Performance in Victory Over Everton

Palmer Shines with Hat-Trick and Penalty in Premier League Debut

Pochettino: 'We played with great intensity and determination'

London, United Kingdom - Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino hailed his team's performance after their 5-1 victory over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Youngster Cole Palmer stole the show with a stunning hat-trick in the first half, making him the joint-leading scorer in the league this season. He then added another goal from the penalty spot to complete his impressive debut performance.

"We played with great intensity and determination from the start," said Pochettino to Sky Sports. "We created a lot of chances and could have scored even more goals."

"Cole Palmer was outstanding today. He showed great skill, pace, and composure. I'm delighted for him and I'm sure he has a bright future ahead of him."

Chelsea took the lead in the 10th minute when Palmer found the net after a rebound from a Jackson shot. He doubled his tally just six minutes later with a superb curling effort from the edge of the area.

Palmer completed his hat-trick in the 35th minute, tapping in from close range after a cross from Callum Hudson-Odoi. Everton pulled one back through Richarlison just before half-time, but Palmer sealed the victory with his penalty in the 75th minute.

The win moves Chelsea up to second place in the Premier League standings, just one point behind leaders Arsenal. Everton, meanwhile, remain in the relegation zone.
