Kristaps Porzingis Injury Update
Celtics Forward Nearing Return
Sprained Ankle and Lateral Meniscus Surgery
The Boston Celtics have announced that forward Kristaps Porzingis underwent surgery to address a lateral meniscus injury of his right knee. Despite the injury, the Celtics still sit atop the Eastern Conference standings.
Porzingis initially suffered a sprained left ankle during Monday's game against the Knicks. He revealed during Boston's shootaround Wednesday morning in Philadelphia that he aggravated the injury during that game when he collided with an opponent.
The 7-3 forward is now nearing his return. The Celtics expect him to be ready for the start of training camp, which is scheduled to begin in late September.
