Gregg Berhalter: Former Player, Current Manager
Early Life and Playing Career
Gregg Berhalter was born on August 1, 1973, in Englewood, New Jersey. He played as a center-back and spent his entire professional playing career with the Los Angeles Galaxy from 1998 to 2002.
Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Berhalter began his coaching career as an assistant coach for the LA Galaxy in 2009. In 2013, he became the head coach of the Columbus Crew, where he led the team to the MLS Cup title in 2015.
U.S. National Team Manager
In December 2018, Berhalter was appointed as the head coach of the United States men's national team. He led the team to victory in the 2023 Gold Cup and is currently preparing the team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
